Hello mustard seed friends,
There's so much happening on the farm, that I'm going to send 2 June newsletters (and it's still May). here's the first installment.  I'll try to keep it succinct.
here's the newsletter p.1 made by Schontonia

HARVEST TRAINING STARTS NOW!!

here is a SIGN UP FORM to fill out if you would like to volunteer.
and please fill out the MAY ATTENDANCE FORM to let us know when you are coming.

COMMUNITY SINGING TONIGHT! and more

This is a quick note because there's so much going on this week before you get the official May newsletter.

COMMUNITY SINGING TONIGHT!!! Wednesday, 6:30-8pm: Community Singing at 505 Northwestern in Ames. Simple songs that anyone can sing taught by Solveig, Alice, and YOU?? Singing is for everyone - you don't need to be an opera singer - you don't need to know the songs beforehand. In honor of earth day - the songs will mostly be about nature and the Earth. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

SPRING PLANTING WORKDAYS!!

We are planting TODAY!!
4/12, Saturday, 1-4pm. Just show up and join us.
WE hope to get a lot of stuff planted this week - crops that like cooler weather and don't mind a little frost every now and then - Kale, peas, spinach, lettuce, beets, chard, potatoes, onions, some early cabbages and broccoli.

and then we will keep planting throughout April and May, until all our main crops are planted.

if you can't join us TODAY - here are some of our other public weekend workdays -

March Newsletter, upcoming events, QUILT GUILD TALK

Hello Mustard Seed Community Farm friends,
(post written on the equinox, by alice. also, some of the links in this post aren't linked at the moment - sorry!)

Happy equinox! Happy spring! Happy day after some crazy wild winter weather! Things are rolling on the farm - the birds are coming back and migrating over, we've had a few volunteer work days, we're starting seedlings and prepping the garden, and a few nights this past week, we've heard different frogs waking up and singing their songs.

November News

Dear Mustard Seed Farm friends,

We are entering a quieter season at the farm after finishing our last harvest mornings at the beginning of November, which included some beautiful cauliflower. We are so grateful to our whole community and to our amazing volunteers for making this another great season. We donated more than 5,000 lbs of food and hundreds of flower bouquets this year! Thank you all!
