Hello friends,
Like everyone, we are trying to make plans in this pandemic, figuring out what is essential and what is not. Both Nate and Alice work at a grocery store and are continuing to go to work while our health is good and taking our best sanitation precautions.
It's springtime and there's a very large amount of work to be done to start the growing season, and we do think growing food is an essential service, but I'm confused about if we should have visitors on the farm to help us.
We would like to invite you to an evening of
Community Singing!!!!
Saturday March 7, 5-8pm.
Experience Harmony, Joy, Beauty, Cooperation, and Community through Music!!
Our friends Brenna Cussen, Rachel Schmidt-Boeke, and Mary Kay McDermott will be visiting from Dubuque to teach us and lead us in an evening of singing. The songs will be easy to learn but beautiful and meaningful. Feel free to bring songs of your own to teach to the group.
Potluck at 5pm, followed by singing until 8pm.
Location: 307 8th St, Ames, IA, 50014
It's almost here!

fire last night
hi friends,
I've been meaning to write a farm email update for a while, but I kept waiting until we got our whole winter schedule sorted out. At this point, we still haven't totally figured our schedule, but there's a lot of news and info to share, so I'm writing this email and will follow up with more info soon.
In this email:
1. upcoming Swap on December 8
2. Advent candle making and where you can purchase them
3. news about the big stover fire adjacent to the farm
Here's a couple of pictures from our candle making day on Saturday. (ok, the pictures didn't work - i will try again tomorrow)
Yesterday was a beautiful day, sunny, with very little wind, and I'm trying to get as much done as possible before things get really cold. Last weekend we got 98% of the garlic planted before Sunday nightfall and rain. Thanks everyone!!!!
There's still so much to do on the farm!!!
If any of you are still interested in helping out on days when the weather is nice,
