Just some quick note about MELONS:This past week, our WATERMELONS, and CANTALOUPES just started to ripen. We hope we will have enough for you all to get one of each, and potentially more after that. However, just like our cucumbers, these plants are very popular with insect pests, so a long melon season can not be guaranteed.
Hello friends,
We've been waiting until we have a better idea of the weather forecast to make our final plan, but now we are being decisive:
Garlic Harvest, Saturday, 7/6, 8am-4pm!!!
We will work 8am-noon, have a potluck lunch, and then finish up 1-4pm. RSVP is helpful, but not necessary. We hope to get all the garlic pulled out of the ground, trimmed, sorted, and hung up to dry and cure. If you help, you will be able to take home garlic, and maybe a few berries.
Practical Farmers of Iowa Field Day: This free, educational event is scheduled for Sunday, June 30 from 3-5 PM on the farm.
Our theme is "Agriculture Supporting Community" and we will have leaders from our farm talking about community and cooperation through the lens of on-farm research, shared leadership, our volunteer model and community partners, growing flowers, seed saving, and more! Come learn, eat some delicious ice cream and local berries, and make some new friends!
