GARLIC PLANTING:
This saturday, oct 22, all day long (9-noon, 1-4 work shifts. we will eat lunch from noon -1, please bring food to share if you will be here for lunch.) we will be planting garlic for next year's harvests, and mulching garlic and strawberries. if we get that all done, we will also work on protecting trees from winter nibblers. This is our last big work day of the season. workers will also be able to take some garlic home with them, along with some other fall veggies. dress for cold and warm weather, and be prepared to get dirty. feel free to call or text to rsvp, or just show up. 515-460-1467

2. GARLIC FOR SALE -
while many crops struggled this year, our garlic was great. we have some left and can sell it to you if you are interested. $7 per pound. let us know if you would like some.

3. Alice and Elena will be 2 of 5 presenters at the GPSA colloquium at ISU 008 Curtiss hall at 3;10 today, wednesday 10/19/16. we will be talking about the Women Food and Agriculture Network.

4. AS the weather gets colder, most things are dying out on the farm, but our kale is still going strong. kale is super good for you, but there is often only a small demand for it at the food pantries. we would love to be donating this late season kale. does anyone have any great ideas how to connect kale to people who need it?

5. we are looking for a small chest freezer. anyone looking to get rid of one?

Thank you all. it's been a challenging season and it's thanks to all our wonderful community that we made it through intact. we haven't figured out our winter event schedule, but we will let you know as soon as we do. if you would like to come out to the farm to help out, or be involved in winter planning, please let us know.
again - THANKS!
