headed northwest of Ames (about 10 miles north of ames), west of Story City, just south of E-18. Also
note that W Ave does not go through north of Hwy 30 - take Hwy 17 or
R38 north from 30.

About the workshop;

Resilient seed systems are the foundation of a healthy, farming
system.Today, research institutions and corporations seek to control
our seed inheritance. Participants in this session will learn how to
save seeds and restore our seed-saving expertise. The class will
include 2 hours of basic seed saving and an hour of hands-on work on
plant observation and selection for seed saving. The presenter will
be Koby Jeschkeit-Hagen of Tiny Diner and the Honey House Farm in
Minneapolis, MN. Join us for a fun class, and invite your friends!

Teacher profile about Koby Jeschkeit-Hagen;

Koby Jeschkeit-Hagen is an urban farm manager and seed saving teacher.
For several years she has worked at educational, research,
biointensive, urban youth, and seed-saving farms across the country,
including Emandal Farm, JD Rivers Children’s Garden, Seed Savers
Exchange, Seeds of Change, and Ecology Action. With a masters in
Community and Regional Planning (Environment and Natural Resources
emphasis), a PDC from the Permaculture Drylands Institute, and a
permaculture teacher certificate, she draws on many approaches to
share diverse farming and community-building methods. Currently she is
working on Seed Sages and a 3-year breeder certification training.
Partnerships with the Seed Sages project include the Arid Crop Seed
Cache of Cuatro Puertas in New Mexico and Seed Savers Exchange.
