Some major accomplishments!

Some major accomplishments!

So It’s been a busy month at the farm.
1. We finally got a roof on the outdoor kitchen!
2. The farm purchase finally got completed! After so long, and many obstacles, Mustard Seed Farm now owns the land!
3. Nate and Alice got married!
and went on a honeymoon while our farm team took awesome care of everything – special thanks to Rachel and Craig.
4. As we speak, Nicholas is defending his thesis – which I think will go great and he will be an official master of streambank erosion by the time you read this email.
Each of these things is a really big deal, and couldn’t have happened without the help and support of a million people. For example, our wedding was amazingly perfect – all because of the effort of so many wonderful friends and helpers. In fact, I'm still in a daze from all these momentous things happening at the same time. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The internet is continuing to invent new ways to outsmart me – there are lots of pictures out there of the wedding, the building project, and more, but I have not yet figured out how to save them or move them to our website. If you would like to see some, the farm facebook page has some – check out
Mustardseed communityfarm on facebook. As if the farm were a person, with a first and last name.

Also, now that we have a roof on our kitchen, and are no longer overwhelmed with such urgent things as hosting a wedding, we’ll be back working on our natural building skills. We are planning on getting back to work on our earthen oven, walls, counters, and loft of this building. With these projects in mind, we’ll be having a work day this Saturday 9am-noon, lunch break, 1-4pm. If you want to stay for lunch, it’s always helpful if you bring some food to share. If you want to carpool, find out more info, or let us know that you are coming, please contact Alice – 515-460-1467
Again, many thanks!
